About Us

Our head chef and owner of Kitcho / Sidecar Restaurant is Yuichi Morie. Yuichi Morie has more than thirty years' experience as a sushi chef and was born and raised in Japan giving him first-hand experience with the art of Japanese cuisine. He learned his culinary skills from highly sought after Japanese chefs and because he traveled extensively he grew a taste for many different cuisines across the world and thus the idea of combining flavors from the east and west and blending in the old with the new was born into Kitcho / Sidecar Restaurant. Yuichi Morie considers it a great gift to be able to turn fresh fish into beautiful and tasty works of sushi art.

In 2005 Kitcho / Sidecar Restaurant in Tallahassee received a 4 hats rating by renowned food critic Ashby Stiff in the Tallahassee Democrat who stated 'Fun, tasty and exotic though it is, sushi's not the whole Kitcho show. To dine at Kitcho is to watch the ongoing parade of brilliantly colored foods - hot and cold, artistically arranged on boards or in bowls or deep rimmed trays -that transit the dining room.' Kitcho / Sidecar Restaurant has enjoyed the title of the best Japanese restaurant in Tallahassee and we invite you to come and decide for yourself. We are open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 am to 2 pm and for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30 pm to 10 pm and Sunday from 5:30 pm to 9 pm; our bar is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 2 am and Sunday from 5 pm to 2 am.
